Concept 1

CLOSEUP INTO OUR NEW MAIN CHARACTER

One of the main goals of the secondary key art is to get the audience better acquainted with our new cast of characters. Extreme closeup shot of Dal’s face treated with the colorful space atmosphere.

Concept 2

STARFLEET

Back shot of characters as they gaze upon the Starfleet ship as it takes off. Although we used an image from our primary key art pitch of the ship in warp speed.

We also made an alternate idea of the Starfleet logo outline in the stars. We thought it can compliment the primary key art by communicating the Star Trek tie-in.

THE CREW AS SEEN BY ZERO

The camera focuses on Zero’s eye where we see the cast in the fisheye lens. Dal leans in from behind

Concept 4

VASTNESS OF SPACE

Wide shot of the cast as we see their perspective of the vast horizon of space. We wanted also to play with the idea of their shadow stretched out on the ground surface were the sky in reflecting. The idea of the characters being so small in the vastness of space.

CONCEPT 1A

CLOSEUP OF CHARACTERS

Concept 1 was chosen to move forward with production. We revised to address some concerns with the Extreme Closeup approach. We zoomed out a bit and included some art in the background. When it was approved we decided to create a series with all the new characters. Here is the four I initially pitched.

CONCEPT 1B

CHARACTERS SHARING SAME SPACE

A spin-off of the Closeup Idea was to have the characters share the same space but crop them each into their own poster/environment. Eventually we recreated the background to appear more seamless.
